I've been on the phone for close to an hour trying to get certain things fixed and replaced, nothing out of the ordinary just things we pay for and that should have been done months ago when we first pointed out the faults. Anyway, we're not the only ones complaining about the lack of service and things are finally it seems moving on (5 months later...) I called today to get all the dates when the repairs are scheduled fully expecting nothing to have been scheduled but lo and behold : They all have! Now we're not holding our breaths that it'll get done by the dates I was given but at least we have progress. It's not fun though, the Mister hates calling people so he deals with it via email and that is great because we get it in writing then, but sometimes you just have to call and speak to someone as well. Apparently I was not the first to have called today either so I think they're getting fed up with hearing for us all (residents of the area) But the lady I spoke to was very nice to deal with though, thankfully. She went out of her way to help me out and I really appreciated that.
Now if only it was weekend for us too but it's not, the Mister is working for a few more days, we'd both love to go to the pub this afternoon and sit outside in their garden by the water and have a cold white wine (and a pint for the Mister). But that's not on the cards at all.
I scared the living daylights out of the Mister the night before last. We'd been asleep for about an hour and I had got it in my mind that he was working nights and that I was alone in bed. So when I had to get up to pee I turned on the bed side lamp as I usually do when I'm alone at night and have to get up, I then sit up in bed and just as I'm about to swing my legs over the side I see someone moving right next to me. Of course it was the Mister but in my daze for a split second I thought it was an intruder and before I could stop myself I looked at him and screamed at the top of my lungs, and I mean at the top of my lungs! He got scared, I got scared, my heart was pounding so hard it took me good few minutes to get over the shock. After a few minutes we went back to sleep and the next morning as the Mister came in to say good bye to me before leaving for work he was still laughing about it, asking me what happened - same thing when he came back from work last night. I open the door and he's standing there grinning at me asking me once again to explain what on earth went on that night.
I spent an hour or so this morning writing 3 pretty long emails to friends and when the Mister walks in to say good morning (he had a lie in because he worked night) I told him all about it and he says;
- Catching up on your correspondence are you?
It might not sound very funny now but that one line delivered in a dry English sense of humor way was about the funniest thing I've heard this week.
Yesterday and the day before we had 18 C outside, people were walking around in tank tops. Today it's snowing. It's April. We live by the coast. It shouldn't be snowing here now. The ground is completely covered and it's still coming down.
We're having a house guest arriving tomorrow. I told her yesterday about how spring like the weather is here. Hrmm... Hopefully it'll be gone by the time we get up to go to the airport to pick her up.
