Summer has returned and I can't stand the heat! Being pregnant during summer is so not enjoyable. But at least I'm feeling more human again and can actually go for walks now and the 5 h marathon naps have ceased as well.
That morning sickness really kicked my a**!.
The Mister went out last night, a work thing, he asked if minded and of course I said no, but only after he agreed to help me hang the new curtains for the bedroom (I'm nesting like mad here!) without whining. He won't let me stand on step ladders or chairs anymore and I guess that's just as well because as my center of gravity has changed my balance is not what it was... He didn't drink, drove into town, and was back home again by 21:30 so today I suggested we'd go to the pub for the first time since April. It felt a bit odd sitting there being pregnant and all but I stuck to drinking lemonade of course. I did get a bit paranoid wondering about what people thought and if they could tell that I wasn't drinking any alcohol. We had a good time though, sitting outside in the beer garden. The Mister had a pint and he really deserved that as he hasn't had any alcohol since day one of the pregnancy test, in support of me he says...although I never asked him not to drink while I'm pregnant. Anyway, we went for the third ultrasound scan the other week and found out the sex....
It was just what we suspected for some reason....
a
little
Boy!!!!!!!!!
We didn't have any preference at all but for some reason we were so sure that it was a boy, and it was!. This makes shopping a lot easier, not that all we buy is blue - far from it - but we can get gender specific items and plan the nursery....
I'm just busy with stuff and stuff and more stuff! I will try to get an update done soon, but it might be a couple of days. I've barely had the time to read anyone else's blog and most definitely not updated flickr for ages.
I've been on the phone for close to an hour trying to get certain things fixed and replaced, nothing out of the ordinary just things we pay for and that should have been done months ago when we first pointed out the faults. Anyway, we're not the only ones complaining about the lack of service and things are finally it seems moving on (5 months later...) I called today to get all the dates when the repairs are scheduled fully expecting nothing to have been scheduled but lo and behold : They all have! Now we're not holding our breaths that it'll get done by the dates I was given but at least we have progress. It's not fun though, the Mister hates calling people so he deals with it via email and that is great because we get it in writing then, but sometimes you just have to call and speak to someone as well. Apparently I was not the first to have called today either so I think they're getting fed up with hearing for us all (residents of the area) But the lady I spoke to was very nice to deal with though, thankfully. She went out of her way to help me out and I really appreciated that.
Now if only it was weekend for us too but it's not, the Mister is working for a few more days, we'd both love to go to the pub this afternoon and sit outside in their garden by the water and have a cold white wine (and a pint for the Mister). But that's not on the cards at all.
I scared the living daylights out of the Mister the night before last. We'd been asleep for about an hour and I had got it in my mind that he was working nights and that I was alone in bed. So when I had to get up to pee I turned on the bed side lamp as I usually do when I'm alone at night and have to get up, I then sit up in bed and just as I'm about to swing my legs over the side I see someone moving right next to me. Of course it was the Mister but in my daze for a split second I thought it was an intruder and before I could stop myself I looked at him and screamed at the top of my lungs, and I mean at the top of my lungs! He got scared, I got scared, my heart was pounding so hard it took me good few minutes to get over the shock. After a few minutes we went back to sleep and the next morning as the Mister came in to say good bye to me before leaving for work he was still laughing about it, asking me what happened - same thing when he came back from work last night. I open the door and he's standing there grinning at me asking me once again to explain what on earth went on that night.
I spent an hour or so this morning writing 3 pretty long emails to friends and when the Mister walks in to say good morning (he had a lie in because he worked night) I told him all about it and he says;
- Catching up on your correspondence are you?
It might not sound very funny now but that one line delivered in a dry English sense of humor way was about the funniest thing I've heard this week.
Yesterday and the day before we had 18 C outside, people were walking around in tank tops. Today it's snowing. It's April. We live by the coast. It shouldn't be snowing here now. The ground is completely covered and it's still coming down.
We're having a house guest arriving tomorrow. I told her yesterday about how spring like the weather is here. Hrmm... Hopefully it'll be gone by the time we get up to go to the airport to pick her up.
The Mister and I are invited to an informal "do" soon and I really didn't have anything to wear. Seriously. Most of my things are for warmer weather or too formal. I saw this top in a shop window last week but as we didn't know about this "do" back then I didn't get it. But as soon as the Mister mentioned it to me the other day I knew that it would be perfect so I bought it. I also bought some accessories (long dangly earrings) and a nude colored tank to wear underneath as the knit is very large and has "holes" in and we're not going to have THAT much fun! Lol.. It's pretty versatile, I can wear it with jeans (darker or lighter wash) skirt, linen pants in various colors, etc.
I got flowers from the Mister the other day! I LOVE lilies and this bouqet also has beautiful roses. He'd heard me complain about the store not having any tulips left when we did our Easter grocery shop, I had really wanted a bouqet for the side board in the kitchen, so he bought me this bouqet instead on his way home from work.
I've got a code for 25% off from asos, I LOVE that store and have shopped there since they just opened up and were still a pretty small business years ago. Now they've grown and are huge but I still love almost everything they have. I'm wondering if I should take them up on the offer and order some warm weather clothes... It's tempting!
The Mister has today off so we're thinking that we might head down the pub for a couple of drinks later, should be good. We haven't been for a couple of months, not since before our FL vacation.
I wrote a whole entry the other day about sewing the bedroom curtains and going to the movies (The Other Boelyn Girl - which btw was a great movie) and then when I went to save it, Vox crapped out on me. I couldn't be bothered to re-write that entry right away and then I got busy. Anyway, l wanted to write something here because I'd been quiet for so long, and this is it. The Mister is off to work pretty soon and I'm going do some cleaning.
